Resident Evil 6: Announced & Dated!

The wait is over.  Capcom swings back at the Silent Hill series releasing three games in March with an announcement trailer for Resident Evil 6.  The trailer involves Leon Kennedy shooting zombies in the face.  But the madness doesn’t stop there.  Chris Redfield’s triceps return for another go.

This was apparently foreseen.  On Wednesday, the internet buzzed with rumors that the website NoHopeLeft.com was a viral campaign for Resident Evil 6.  Once again, the internet was right.  You can jump in on the genocidal zombie action on November 20, 2012 when the game launches.

The very first franchise that comes to mind when discussing Japanese Role-Playing games (JRPGs) is Final Fantasy.  Final Fantasy gets all the accolades when pondering the reach of the genre and coincidentally, an equal amount of blame for its stagnation.  This is the third final fantasy game I’ve played and the first I’ve completed so, it is with much trepidation that I present you this bias-free review Final Fantasy XIII.  If y0u don’t want to read the 1400 word review, please click here for the audio review.

Gamer Information Spreadsheet tops 100

It has been years in the making.  Zabari, the man with the dulcet baritone pipes, color-coded his own blood, sweat and tears into a Google Spreadsheet for gamers from all walks of life to find someone to play with.  That’s right, the Gamer Information Spreadsheet (GIS) finally houses 100 gamers.  That means 100 mature, vouched-for gamers are waiting to play a multiplayer game with you without all the ignorance, immaturity, and stupidity of some of the random players found in online gaming networks.

Project No Online Play

Project No Online Play

By Matt White

Starting with the release of “Dragon Age: Origins”, mega publisher Electronic Arts introduced what they called “Project Ten Dollar”. This was devised to help EA re-coup money lost due to used game sales but has it worked? This is a very hot topic in the game industry and I intend to see if this program has worked or not and why or why not. Is it truly EA’s way of fighting the likes of GameStop and other used game retailers or is it hurting legitimate gamers? (more…)

For my man Zabari, I interview Mike about his new downloadable title Skull Girls. Does that name sound familiar?

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is an innovative new action-adventure epic that blah blah blah.  That’s what the card from PAX says.  Let me tell you what you need to know about this extremely impressive game.  (more…)

OFR PAXEast 2011 Inside Track with Paul Wedgwood- Brink

My brief interview with Splash Damage’s Paul Wedgewood, Executive Producer on Brink, reveals some very enticing details regarding the First Person shooter. Brink takes place in a secluded culture experiencing a civil war.  The fight is not over principals but resources.  The game’s story headed by Edward Stern is not one of minimalist proportions.  It has depth and meaning.

Brink is scheduled for release in the U.S. on May 17, U.K on May 20, on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.

Can’t We All Just Get Along?

Can’t We All Just Get Along?

By Matt White(Chtulu80)

A few weeks ago the Electronic Software Association had put out new restrictions on the amount of people from independent sites can attend E3. This started an uproar in the indie side of gaming “journalism”. While some went off the handle one way or the other, I got to thinking, why are we fighting? (more…)
